Notes of Music

This week I've built more on the concept of oddly shaped LEGO builds. However, this time, instead of using an oddly shaped platform, I dived into a building shaped like a music note!

This shop is one of my tallest towers (not counting the City in a Tree, of course), with five floors, each with their own little scene inside. Plus, let's not forget all the details in the smaller building, the "dot" part of the music note!

One of the first things I did when I started this build was make the dot part of the music note, with a pretty simple curved roof. But while the roof wasn't too hard to build, it did have some rough spots that I wanted to patch over, hence the big, bright, colorful sign!
This sign is made with a huge, supersized music note, built in white so it would stand out. Plus, for an extra pop of color, we have bits of paint jutting out from every angle, making this music note really pop! And now that I built the exterior, I needed to figure out what to put inside this spectacularly shaped building!

When I got inside, I decided to build a piano studio, with two pianos, and a shelf of music books! Plus, like I’ve done with many other builds, a soft green rug made of multiple shades of green for that finishing touch and pop of color! This design worked well with the space, and it reflected the music theme (obviously, I couldn't build a pizza shop in a store with a music note sign).

Once I was done with the piano studio, it was time to head to the tower. My favorite element of the tower is the pink paint drips on the sides of the building, made of a combination of colored bricks mixed with brown bricks, and streaks of pink going down the tower.

However, a building isn't just about the outside, and so, let's explore the inside, starting with a fun record shop at the base of this building!
This record shop is rather simple, with a pile of CDs, a cash register, and a couple other details. It's a small shop, but it works with the space it's in, and still carries across the general idea of a record shop!

Next, we'll hop up to the second floor.
This room is bringing the music, with a small piano, and some music notes! Funny enough, the hardest part about buildings this floor was getting the notes to fit on the music stand.
Plus, another favorite, the tiles on the floor, which I love! From the bright orange to the light, summer yellow, this floor carries across the fun carpet colors, with all gradients of yellow and orange!

On the next floor, we're keeping the music theme running, with a recording studio. And while the floor colors aren't as fun, this studio still shines! There's a microphone, and a bunch of buttons and levers. There's also a book open with the music. It's pretty simple, but it still carries across the general, nice feeling of a recording studio (I assume so, I've never been to a recording studio).

After that, it's right up to the apartment on the fourth floor.
This apartment is nice and pretty, with lots of plants to give it a unique vibe (the owner of the apartment is a plant lover). The bed is also colored a fun shade of pink, and, of course, the floor is covered with purple floor tiles! And now that we've observed this floor, let's head to the fifth floor (this place really needs an elevator)!

This floor, like all the others, has a fun color pallet, going back to the pallet on the second floor, with oranges and yellows!
There's also some pops of color on the blue counter in the kitchen, and of course, on the walls, which, on the top floor, are practically covered with pink. But then again, who doesn't love some pops of colors to elevate a music shop from an oddly shaped music shop, to a colorfully oddly shaped music shop!

Nice!
