Welcome to Candy's Shop, a beautiful and eye-catching candy shop run by the one and only Candy! This building is my first candy shop, and a very colorful one at that!

A LEGO candy shop with colorful LEGO walls with color strips on the website createsparkle.

One of my favorite features of a candy shop is the wall-to-wall, ginormous, eye-catching, huge (you get it) candy display cases.

A LEGO candy display case with colorful sides on the createsparkle website.

Since I wanted to display lots of little candies too, but didn't want to build clear display bins to go on the counter tops, I found a way to display the candy in this giant display case.

The bottom cases shows your typical rock candy, wrapped candy, ex. Pretty nice looking, prettying typical, but not very eye-catching or popular, especially since they're right below the mother lode, the famous delicious candy, something almost anyone will love; chocolate. There's cookies, chocolate bonbons, and all sorts of other chocolate made candies!

Above it is more 'candy' candy, types of candy that are used more for Trick o' Treating and less for fancy gourmet cakes at weddings. Above chocolate is licorice.

Above licorice is some unnamed circular candy that could be anything from M&Ms to sour patch. And above those is yet another unnamed green candy! (I am not an expert on candy).

The outside of a LEGO candy store built with colorful LEGO details on the website createsparkle.

Another detail that I'm quiet fond of (although it isn't a detail, rather a main part of the build) is the colorful strips lining the walls. I wanted the candy shop to be colorful and eye-catching and bright not just on the inside, but on the outside too. And while the strips did take me a while to build so that they covered the whole building (as well as the sides of the Candy Display Case and the display tables), it was definitely worth it.

When I first built this I just started with the part of the building you see on the right, the one with a second floor. But as I built it, I realized that the Candy Display Case wasn't going to fit very well. So that's when I made a second part (left) the gave my building more room, something I am very glad I built.

Speaking of details, while the inside (as I mentioned above) was very challenging, it was also fun to build all the tiny candies and treats.

Things like the caramel green apples (bottom left), which are only made with two pieces, are nice example on how something can be simplified but still represent the key parts of the original object.

And details like the caramel dripping from the caramel machine (bottom right) or the chocolate ice cream/sundaes (upper left) are fun to add, but also just plain delicious sounding.

A LEGO apartment on the second floor of a LEGO candy store with a LEGO kitchen, LEGO desk, LEGO toy and LEGO bed.

I also like the use of a LEGO plane toy (similar to the plane in the LEGO 10270 Bookstore), which brings a nice feeling of playfulness to the apartment above Candy's shop.

So even if it isn't a huge build, it's still a delightful one, with colors and shapes that pop and make it stand out!
