Welcome to our one room schoolhouse! Although we don't use them anymore, buildings like this were once quite regular and used practically every day for teaching. And although they're a bit old fashion, they're still great LEGO models and blog posts!

The outside of this schoolhouse is pretty simple - with a couple of nice finishing details to add a final wow factor.

One detail I really like is the sideways studs on the walls facing the front of the building. They give it a little bit of texture and compliment the studs around the building. They also contrast nicely with the stairs, which are completely smooth.
One other detail I like is the use of brown 1x1 circle pieces in the garden, just to really bring out the use of texture with studs.

Next we head inside, to the classroom, which is pretty simple. Now, back in the olden days, lots of students could fit into a classroom, but, now in the modern days, it's sometimes hard to find a bunch of chair pieces to build a LEGO classroom! (Unless you have access to a giant LEGO warehouse with hundreds of each type of pieces, which I don't). Nevertheless, this classroom still has plenty of detail, including two desks and chairs, a teachers desk with a kettle of tea and a newspaper, and of course a chalk board, since who could forget that!

And now, done with our tour of a very small building (it's a one room school house, what did you expect?), we take a walk back outside, to our little garden, which, like the rest of the schoolhouse, is built with detail and color to bring it to life. And who knows? This build might be the thing to make one room schoolhouses a trend again!
