This weekend I cleaned some of my dirtier, older LEGO bricks and celebrated by building a bath with my clean LEGO.

The first thing I did was select the LEGO pieces I wanted to clean. I knew I was going to build a bathtub, so I chose pieces I might use for a bathtub, including a white platform and a water facet.

Then I washed all the pieces in a plastic bin I use to store my LEGO. To do this, I soaked the pieces in warm water with soap and moved them around.

Once they were squeaky clean, I laid them down on a towel and dried off the pieces. Some of them looked pretty similar, but others looked brand new! Definitely worth the time and effort of cleaning them if they look so nice!

Now, pieces dried, it was time to build a LEGO bathtub!

The bathtub I built to be rather simple. Plain white, pristine edges, blue water, some playful bath toys to add a little bit of extra color and some soapy bubble studs to make it more realistic.

First there are the white pieces. Out of all the elements of the tub, I probably planned out the white pieces the most. I knew it would be a 6x10 tub, so I would need some 1x4, 1x6, 1x8 and 1x10. I also needed to get a platform that was the right size. Once I got that arranged though, I could focus on finding other fun pieces! Next up; blue pieces!

The blue pieces I didn't end up needing. I thought I might use them in the tub water, but the tub turned out to be full enough without the pieces, so I left them out. I had already washed them though, and I thought they looked nice. Nice and clean.

The bath toys were the funnest parts to gather, and were mostly made of small, flat pieces, mostly 1x1, 1x2, and corner pieces in bright colors. I unfortunately couldn't find my LEGO ducky, but I think it worked well for me as it motivated me to build bath toys out of different pieces.

I also included some bubble pieces, to make the tub more realistic, although it's still a bright blue LEGO tub!

All of these pieces combined to make a nice, polished, finished product of a beautiful bathtub and a nice way to celebrate nice, new clean pieces!
